Kurz gesagt

In short

Jero stores your tasks, habits and settings on your device. We (the app's provider) run no server of our own and receive none of your data. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools and no third-party software.

What data the app processes and where

DataWherePurpose
Tasks, habits, settingson your device (app database)planning your day
the same data, if iCloud is onin your private iCloud storage at Apple (CloudKit)syncing between your devices
Calendar eventsin your device's calendarfinding free time, adding blocks
Remindersas local notifications on your devicereminding you of blocks, deadlines and follow-ups
Widget stateas a file in the storage shared by app and widget on your deviceshowing your next block

iCloud sync (optional)

If you are signed in with an Apple Account and iCloud is enabled for Jero, the app syncs your data between your devices through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). This data lives in your iCloud account; we have no access to it. Without an iCloud sign-in, or if you turn off iCloud for the app in iOS Settings, all data stays on the device. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud.

Calendar access

The app asks for full access to your calendars. It reads your events on the device only, to see when you are busy and to find free time for your tasks. It writes planned blocks only to a calendar of its own named “Anlaufstelle”. An event you enter in the inbox is created in the calendar you chose only after you confirm it. The app never changes or deletes other events. Calendar data leaves the device only through the calendar sync you set up yourself in iOS (e.g. iCloud Calendar). Without calendar access the app remains usable but does not plan blocks.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on the device. There are no promotional notifications and no third-party push service. You can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Apple Intelligence (optional)

In Settings you can turn on Apple models to better understand sentences from the inbox:

Siri and Shortcuts

If you use “Add to Jero” via Siri or the Shortcuts app, Apple processes your voice input under Apple's Siri terms. The app receives only the recognized text and processes it on the device.

Export and import

When you export tasks as a calendar file (.ics), you decide through the share sheet where the file goes. Imported files are read on the device only.

Sharing, tracking, advertising

We do not share or sell data and do not track you across apps or websites. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

Deletion

In the app's settings, “Delete all data” removes all tasks, habits and the planned blocks in the “Anlaufstelle” calendar (other events stay untouched). Deleting the app makes iOS remove the local data. You delete data in your iCloud account in iOS Settings under Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Your rights

Since we neither receive nor store personal data from you, we cannot provide information about it or delete anything; you manage all data yourself on your device and in your iCloud account. We are happy to answer privacy questions at maichael@columpsi.de. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes

If the processing changes (e.g. through new features), we will update this policy and the date above.
